The ceremony

We were married by Elvis minister Glenn Walter.
The ceremony was held in the garden of the Flamingo hotel which was more lush and tropical than I expected. You can also see live flamingos, they are featured in one of the photo's in Ron's gallery. You can also see some much bigger photos of the ceremony as well as Carol and Ron the attendants.

our day in court

It's part of the Vegas wedding ritual, the visit to Clark county court is the best show in town. Some couples are there in tuxes and satin gowns right before the wedding. We were warned the wait could be an hour but we sailed on through!

time to eat!

Ethan and I were joined by a lovely group of guests for dinner at Rao's in Caesar's Palace.

Guests

Ethan and I were already planning to head to Vegas for RTNDA...so we decided to get married! Fortunately we had a few friends in town, and a few friends who already lived in Vegas.

registry

Ethan and I don't really need a lot of things....so we are excited about the honeymoon registry at traveler's joy. We did pick out a selection of traditional gifts at Bloomies... and there are just a few things on our Tiffany registry, but hey even their gift cards are pretty!
By the way this code entitles you to 10% off on the Bloomingdales registry 2809015221633

our RTNDA wedding "announcement"

Jill Geisler of the Poynter Institute ( a journalism think tank of sorts) was always one of my favorite people in the industry. She always has an encouraging word no matter how sticky a situation you encounter in a news room, and then she honored us by writing about the wedding on her blog.

You do have to click on the "blog" tab and scroll down after you follow this link.

FAQ's

#1. Why now?

Why not? We've been dating for two years and for a variety of reasons, this seemed to be the perfect decision at the perfect time.

#2. Why wasn't I invited?

We are extremely fortunate to have too much of a good thing. We could not see any scenario that would allow all the people we wanted to share in this special day, to be in the same place at once. However, we are hoping to celebrate with everyone on both sides of the country in the weeks and months to come.

#3. Who's moving?

We have no idea.

#4. Is she changing her name?

Nope. Neither is he.

#5. What role did Elvis play in all this?

Elvis (Glenn) officiated the ceremony. Tip for aspiring Elvis' hoping to work weddings in Vegas: You have to be ordained.
